ISDA Debating

Independent Schools Debating Association

The Independent Schools' Debating Association (ISDA) is the premier student debating competition for independent schools in Sydney.

Debating encourages and challenges young people to engage critically and constructively with each other to explore the most controversial, pressing and age-old questions facing our society.

The ISDA brings schools, students, teachers, supporters, coaches and adjudicators together for seven hotly contested rounds of debating on Friday evenings.

To become involved in the ISDA or to gain more information please navigate to the relevant page or Contact Us for more information.

The Convenor and members of ISDA are seeking an experienced debater and adjudicator to take on the position of ISDA Chief Adjudicator for 2022.

Further information about the role is available here.

The ISDA 2021 Season Draw has now been finalised, and is available from the Draw tab.

The new speaking times are available at the Rules tab.

For schools that need to alter the draw by arranging a makeup round, please contact the Convenor and Chief Adjudicator as soon as possible. Coordinators can view draw changes at the Staff page.
